Liz Evans




Liz Evans has been writing professionally since 1988 when she began freelancing for the British music press. For a decade, she profiled some of the world’s biggest rock stars, including Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Sonic Youth, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden. She also published Women, Sex and Rock ‘n’Roll: In Their Own Words, a collection of interviews with musicians including Kim Gordon, Bjork, Tori Amos, Marianne Faithfull, and Siobhan Fahey, and edited Girls Will Be Boys:Women Write on Rock an anthology of rock reportage by high profile women writers.
Currently residing in Tasmania, Liz has more recently written for Dumbo Feather, Lunch Lady, and TasWeekend. In 2018, she received a PhD scholarship from UTAS, and is now researching psychological thrillers from a feminist psychoanalytic perspective while undertaking her own long-form creative writing project.
