Henry Johnston




Henry Johnston is a full time Australian author and essayist. He contributes to The Australian Independent Media Network and Independent Australia (IA) and divides his time between Bruny Island and West Moonah. His two novellas are: Best and Fairest and The Last Voyage of Aratus. Best and Fairest, published by Valentine Press, is set in inner-city Sydney in the 1960s and follows the fate of 13 young men who come together to play Rugby League. Despite rampant racism one of their number, an Aboriginal, wins the coveted Best and Fairest trophy. The Last Voyage of Aratus, published by Forty South Publishing Tasmania, charts a journey of redemption across the south Pacific Ocean in the aftermath of the Second World War.
Other works include the short story An Upturned Sky, published by Stringybark Publishing,
and an anthology of short stories, Port Out Starboard Home, published as an eBook on
Smashwords.
