Welcome to our new blog series, What We’re Reading. Each blog features a member of the Tasmanian Writers’ Centre team, shedding light on their literary journey by giving you a taste of the story they’ve welcomed into their lives.
Zoe Cooney, intern:
I have just started reading I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai. Malala was shot by the Taliban for fighting for her education and went on to become the youngest ever Nobel Peace Prize recipient. I have wanted to read Malala’s story ever since it was published and I have finally started. I love reading about other people’s lives, especially those who have gone through extraordinary odds to fight for what they believe in. I am only four chapters in at the moment, but her and her family’s passion and drive for education and knowledge is already shining through. This book will only become more and more inspiring the further I read.
