Kids Weaving Stories: Photoblog

More than 100 Tassie kids have embarked on magical journeys of their own making during these school holidays.

Weaving stories of places near and far, budding young writers up to 17 years old are having a ball at the free Children’s Creative Writing Workshops.

Our finest children’s authors are travelling to LINCs right across the state. It’s been a mixed journey so far for all those dedicating themselves to the events – transport was tough for one writer, who tragically lost her car to the floods and the Latrobe Lions Club chipped in to help her make it to the sessions; while another writer is set to fly over the Bass Strait to visit King Island for the very first time.

The workshops were run with the support of the Commissioner for Children, who is hosting the second Young Creative Writers Awards this year.

You can see the workshops in action through our photoblog. These pictures of the Hobart event yesterday have been kindly supplied by “DorkyMum” blogger Ruth Dawkins, the Hobart LINC, and tutor Kate Gordon.
