Gwen Harwood Poetry Prize is Open for Entries

Now in its 19th year, the Gwen Harwood Poetry Prize remembers Tasmania’s most acclaimed poet. Proudly sponsored by The Hobart Bookshop and Island.

First Prize: $2000 + publication in Island + annual subscriptions to Island, Griffith Review, Meanjin, Overland, Review of Australian Fiction, Southerly and The Lifted Brow*

Second Prize: Publication in Island + annual subscriptions to Island, Griffith Review, Meanjin, Overland, Review of Australian Fiction, Southerly and The Lifted Brow*

Submissions: – single poem or linked suite not longer than 80 lines – Entries must be typed on single-sided A4 paper – Please submit three copies of your entry if posting – Entries can be emailed to competition@islandmag.com – Your name must not appear in the manuscript; all entries will be judged anonymously – Poems previously published are not eligible – Entries close midnight, September 30, 2014 (entries postmarked September 30 will be accepted) – Entry forms must accompany each entry.
